Mass Culture & CDMI Arts Research in Residence Methods Intensive
July 5, 2021 - November 15, 2021
Research Methods Intensive 2021
CDMI co-lead Mary Elizabeth Luka has been working with Mass Culture as lead supervisor and co-facilitator from UTSC CDMI over the last few months to prepare for and run a pilot research methods intensive with co-facilitator Robin Sokoloski. The collective research project that this will support involves six graduate student researchers in original digital ethnographic research at separate arts organizations, and to develop arts-based methods and frameworks to address impact measurement. The project involves several organizations, including Mass Culture as the co-facilitator, and Canada Council for the Arts, Ontario Trillium Foundation, Toronto Arts Foundation and the Culture Statistics Working Group (Federal-Provincial-Territorial Culture and Heritage Table) as advisors and co-funders. Funded by Mitacs grants for the students, it also involves supervisors and support from six universities (UTSC, Carleton University, Emily Carr University’s Aboriginal Gathering Place, McGill University and University of Winnipeg).
