The Critical Digital Methods Institute (CDMI) is a collaborative research project of The Department of Arts, Culture and Media (ACM) at the University of Toronto Scarborough (UTSC). In the last week of June, 2021, the CDMI will be hosting a Student Research Workshop for students’ works-in-progress. This workshop will offer peer review, practical publishing suggestions and input on research methods and goals.

The CDMI works across different creative, quantitative and qualitative methods and focuses on critical and interpretive methods, social justice frameworks and digital research questions that are attentive to questions and problems of equity, diversity and inclusion. The CDMI concentrates on digital environments that favour interdisciplinary approaches and demand new research methodologies to synthesize contributions from the arts, humanities, social sciences, and beyond in order to better understand the cultural, technological, social, political economic and ethical dynamics of these spaces.
